I popped over to the loo during Spanish class and noticed something was different. I was a little panicked and didn't know what to do so I just went back to class. About a minute later, I started having what I now know to be cramps and asked if I could go to the nurse's office.
The teacher refused because I'd just been out of class. So I whispered "I think I've just started my period." She made me repeat myself over 5 times getting louder and louder. Eventually the whole class heard and I went bright red - which is hard when you have brown skin! I eventually made it to the nurse and got some sanitary towels.
PS: I went to a girls' school, so you'd think the least they could do is provide sanitary products in the bathroom!
