I was 9 years old and I hadn’t had "the talk" at school yet. I knew what it was, but not what to do... When I got my period, I had to grab my iPod from my backpack. (I didn't have a phone yet but I had an iPod that functioned on wifi.) I didn't know pads existed so I used the tampons in the dispenser at the intermediate school's bathroom.
I had to look up a video on my iPod about how to insert a tampon and it hurt so bad because I wasn't putting it in right (TMI, lmao). But I got home that day and talked to my mom and everything was ok after that!
