I was 15 and at my boyfriend's house when it happened. His mom got me supplies and explained how to put them in properly, a kind act that I thank her for.

My mom talked me down and reminded me that I had known about periods and what to expect but I guess I thought I had more time before I would actually ever get my period. Those first few months were a learning process for me but I felt comfort in knowing that I wasn’t alone because my friends were going on this journey with me.
