I was 13 when I got my first period. It was a school night and I went to use the bathroom before dinner. I came rushing down frantic because I was not ready for this big change.
My mom talked me down and reminded me that I had known about periods and what to expect but I guess I thought I had more time before I would actually ever get my period. Those first few months were a learning process for me but I felt comfort in knowing that I wasn’t alone because my friends were going on this journey with me.
