It happened in the summer before 6th grade. It was 6pm on Sunday and I was at my house. Me and my family were watching a movie and I had to go to the bathroom. I sat down and pulled my underwear down (I was wearing a dress) and I saw reddish brown blood. I called out to my mom and asked her if it was my period. She said it was and told me to take off my underwear and put it in the washer.
Then she told me to go upstairs and put on a pad. I already knew a lot about periods and I already had the puberty talk in 5th grade, so I knew a lot already. I went upstairs and put on my pad, then put my underwear in the washer. I was excited yet terrified at the same time. It was a good thing I was prepared and not in public. My cramps were also not that bad. I was glad that I was finally a woman!
