I was nine, an early developer. It was the day of my Communion ceremony. I was convinced that it was part of my Communion ceremony, bleeding out of my vagina.
I was super confused when it came back the next month and never told my mom about it.
My first period story (at 10) is not all that interesting so I'd like to share a different one.
Once when I was 13, while at school, I got terrible cramps and it felt as though I was bleeding from everywhere. Back then I used to have various different circles of friends, most of whom weren't close to each other.
That one day though, having seen me in that much distress, they all kind of came together and ran to different parts of school to fetch extra pads or pain medicine and some stayed put with me, none caring that this exercise was cutting into precious lunch time.
I know none of them remember it now but the love I felt in that extended moment meant the world :')
I have an interesting but sad first period story. I had my first period in 5th grade. I was 11 and my mom was dying. I had no one whom I could share it with. My mom was in critical condition.
For five years I had to suffer so badly because I didn't know how to use a sanitary napkin. Every time I had my period I got a big stain on my uniform, and the whole class would laugh at me and tease me. For five years it all continued and it just broke me.
My mom never told me how to use a sanitary napkin. When I told her about my periods in 7th grade, she just ignored me, and that day I was broken into pieces. I finally learned to use a sanitary napkin in 9th grade.
