Come & Go

So, it was January 23rd, 2022. I was 11. and I started having extreme stomach and back pains. I went to my mom and told her that I had a stomach ache. She informed me that I was probably getting my period. Don't judge, but I stuck my finger up there to see if there was blood. Spoiler alert: there was.

I told my best friend I thought I was going to start and put on a pad. A few hours later, I checked and there was no blood, so I thought I was being dramatic. I even told my friend that I was probably wrong. I went to bed with the pad still on just in case. I woke up and checked, to be sure. And, you'll never guess, there was a good amount of BLOOD! So yup, January 24th, a regular morning before school, was my first.

Happy 12th

It was my 12th birthday and I had just woken up during my birthday sleepover. I felt the urge to pee so I got up and went to the bathroom.

Luckily, my mom had educated me so I knew right away what I was looking at. I then proceeded to cry.

The Period Fairy

It was the first week of lockdown, also the week after my 13th birthday. I’ve always been small and very much a late bloomer. My parents and friends didn’t believe me when I told them so I was stuck trying to put in my mum's super plus tampons on my very first period!

Since then, I have made myself open to talking about periods with other younger girls at my dance school to normalize it as much as possible, I often get called the period fairy!
