Only Nine

SO I WAS ONLY 9! In the 4th grade, I asked my teacher if I could use the restroom and she said yes. When I used the bathroom there was a lot of blood in my underwear.

Quote: "I told my mom and she said "You are a very young woman, Amari.""

I didn't want to tell my teacher so I ran to the nurse and asked for a pad. I put it on and it felt soft. When I went home, I told my mom and she said "You are a very young woman, Amari."

Supermom

My first period occurred when I was 10 year old, very close to being 11. A month before it happened, I had heaps of discharge in my pants. I was taught about periods, but expected it to occur very late. One day, I went to shower and noticed blood in my pants! I ran downstairs screaming, “Mom, is this my period?”

She came upstairs with me. After closely observing my pants, she said yes and smiled. After bear hugging me, she told me that this is all natural and very important. Some of my friends must have gotten it too. I trusted my mom, but I still spent the whole day (it was summer vacation) learning about normalizing periods. I watched a movie and ate yummy foods later, so it was all okay. This happens to almost every girl! Go womanhood!

Period Goals

I was at the movie theater with my brother, sister, mom and dad. Before the movie, we all needed to go to the bathroom. I went to pee then when I wiped I saw brown stuff. I thought that it was poop so I tried pushing but I didn't need to poop. The next day I had a soccer match but I felt a little bit sick. I ate a lot of food the other day so I thought it was because of that. I took some advil and tried my best.

My soccer team lost by 2 points. After that, I went to a porta-potty and threw up into the toilet. I also had to pee so I went and then I saw blood all over my underwear! I immediately told my mom what happened and then she explained what a period was. I stayed home from school the day after that. I wished I was at school because there was a school field trip to a children's museum.
