It was my 13th birthday and I was all excited and ready with positive glow. As I was taking bath, I saw something red on the floor. I assumed something in the water had spilled from the bucket. And then I discovered that I was urinating blood.
But later, mom made it clear that this is menstruation. Though I was a bit aware of it, I was never ready for it. That was the worst birthday ever where cramps grabbed more of my attention than any presents!!
I was 11 years old, I cried looking at my inner. I went to my mom and told her. She made me understand that it's common for every girl.
When being a girl, everyone faces it! And that's what made me feel better when I entered into the new world.
It was only last year that I got my first period. I was at a trampoline place with my netball team. I had been having bad cramps all day, but when I got home I noticed something that looked like poop in my underwear.
I actually had thought I had pooped in my pants, but I showed my mum and she said it was my period. Luckily I had pads at home. It only lasted one day.
